MoMA Exclusive: Made by Masuda Kiribako, a Japanese company founded in 1929, the puzzle-like Toy House Blocks are designed to enhance thinking abilities for kids as young as two years old. Made from paulownia in Japan—a lightweight wood that is soft, anti-bacterial, insect-repellent and mildew-proof—the pieces can be used to create a variety of configurations and, when fitted together inside the house-shaped frame, become a tidy decorative object.
